Jim Dunn, candidate for Washington State District 17 House of Representative, has proven to be effective in the legislature for the residents of Vancouver and Clark County.
With consensus-building skills, Jim helped establish accountability in government, increased availability of affordable homes, expanded rights of residents, protected seniors, controlled spending, limited taxes and created family-wage jobs.
As former chair of the Community and Technical Colleges Subcommittee, former vice-chair of the Trade and Economic Development Committee and his service on Higher Education, State Gov't, and Local Gov't and Housing committees, Jim proved his understanding of the various and diverse issues that involve us every day.
Jim currently serves on the Economic Development, Argiculture and Trade Committee, the Higher Education Committee, the Chuildren and Family Services Committee and the Housing Committee, where he is Asst Ranking Member. Jim also serves on a number of state and national committees and groups.
More needs to be done; we must return Jim Dunn's leadership working to preserve and maintain the family values that has made our state strong. Jim believes in government "of the people, by the people, for the people!"
"The 4 R's of a just society are not noticed until they are lost: the civility of Respect, the discipline of Responsibility, the morality of Religion, and the freedoms afforded only in a Republic!
"We must restore all our rights, it is our duty to do so!"
Jim and Joan moved to Clark County from Kelso, WA, in 1977. Married 42 years, they have two children, Kathleen and James, and five grandchildren, Stephanie, Rachael, Alex, Cameron and Nathan. Joan, now retired, was a registered nurse at Kaiser Permanente. They believe in giving back to the community.
Jim, from Washington Territory and Alaska Territory pioneer families, is a Vietnam-era veteran having honorably served three enlistments in the U.S. Air Force and Reserves.
Jim Dunn is not beholden to anyone except God, his family, his friends and the citizens and voters of Clark County. Thank you for your support!
